Gamble paid off! Application testing for PID355 has not turned up any major problems. Everything is on schedule for the delivery point of next Tuesday. I’m happy with the coverage that my very new test team has provided. JR gets the credit for ramping the team up so quickly. There are concerns over how we will support the site once it’s in the customer’s hands. My felling is that since it’s a beta release, we just supply 9-5gmt support. We’ll see if that’s acceptable. Delivered the software to test today. I've found a few bugs in the system but things look hopeful. I have a few concerns that the interface is not very intuitive. We’ll see have the test guys get on tomorrow.
Kicked off a reseach project: Convert "Rough Guides" to Smartphone format. Lance will pass to Lee.
Met with the entire test team to review plans for accepting ROM Builder. All test scripts are written and the test plan seems solid. Biggest fear is that there is not enough time to actually perform all the tests adequately. We will not know until later this week how much time we’ll need to do bug fixing.
Met with Walt and engineers in Taiwan to review project and timelines for 100 field testing. Taiwan provided us with a base ROM image to use for testing. We’ll have the system up and running by mid-May so that Walt can use the interface to do field testing. There were no decision points in this meeting. Just a basic meet and greet followed by a brief timeline overview.
Meeting: EA Met with Phil, Terry and Lance this morning to discuss a “go forward” plan for EA. Didn’t get very far and wasted an hour plus. Results: Phil needs to go back to the commercial guys to get some priorities set. We may need to start working on MS first because of commercial deadlines.
